Several fields on the Student Demographics screen are related to SEVIS, the Internet-based system which maintains information on non-immigrant students, exchange visitors, and their dependents. The names of these fields are displayed in orange, and are required if the U.S. Citizen field is set to No. Other SEVIS-related fields include: Birth Country, Visa Type, Visa Exp. Date, Country of Citizenship, Alien ID #, English Proficiency Reqd, and Reason Not Required.

The English Proficiency Reqd field should be checked if English proficiency is required for admittance of the student. If this field is NOT checked, then the Reason Not Required field should be completed, explaining why English proficiency is not necessary.
