Portal URL Ref

The Portal URL Ref reference table contains the necessary information needed when the CAMS Enterprise Reset Password functionality is used to send the portal user a link through email to reset their portal password. Each portal must have one entry in the Portal URL Ref table. Multiple entries for any portal cannot be created.

Note: The Portal URL Ref entries are used with the CAMS Enterprise Reset Password functionality whereas the Portals' Forgot Password functionality utilizes the URL contained in the Application.Value("ApplicationURL") value within the global.asa file for each Portal.

To Add a Portal URL Reference:

  1. From the CAMS Enterprise Home page, click CAMS Manager >Lookup Table Options >Portal URL Ref. The Portal URL References window displays.
  2. Double-click a row in the grid to modify or right-click in the grid to open a new detail entry form.
  3. Select the Portal Type from the drop-down. This list is fixed and cannot be modified.
  4. Enter the Fully Qualified Domain Name of the Portal URL. For example: http://your-college-web-address.edu/alumni/ (Note: replace this example with your schools actual URL for each portal).
  5. Click Test URL to test the URL with your default browser. A web page will open to the URL that is entered.
  6. Click Add to save the entry or Cancel to exit without saving.
  7. To delete an entry, highlight that row, then press the Delete key on your keyboard.
  8. Click Save or close the window with the X to save.
