TransDocs in Registration

TransDocs serve as the pipelines that CAMS uses to automate the flow of monies throughout the application. These pipes provide various definitions that make accounting processes efficient (account numbers, posting options, etc.). TransDoc is a Reference table found in CAMS Manager >Lookup Table Options >Transaction Documents. While TransDocs are generally set up by the CAMS Manager, the Registrar’s office and the Bursar’s office will come together to supply the appropriate values for the TransDocs used in Registration.

In the registration setup process, you will need to build a set of TransDocs that will support the passing of charges from registration to billing. This will include the following items:

If your billing staff would like to produce reports and figures from CAMS itself concerning totals from each department or campus if you have multiple campuses for which you will be tracking transactions separately, then build multiple sets of TransDocs, one set for each of departments or campuses represented (e.g., MainTuition, CompSciTuition, etc. or Main[Campus]Tuition, North[Campus]Tuition, etc).

In addition to the standard fees bulleted above, you will also want to build a second set of TransDocs that include all fees charged by the various departments and courses. The specificity required here should be determined by accounting requirements (as determined by the GL program and reporting necessity).
