Student Address Maintenance

There are three address types that are used in the generation of many standard CAMS reports (billing statements, grade cards, etc.). These types are local, home, and billing. If a single address of any of these types is entered upon the creation of a record, CAMS will automatically generate the other two addresses from that source.

Warning: It is important to know that upon saving the record, if only one of these pre-established address types is used to create a new address record (i.e. Home), CAMS will automatically generate records with the remaining two (Local and Billing) by copying identical data from the initial record. These are the addresses to be used in such reports as the student’s grade card, billing statements, etc.

If an address type other than Home, Local, or Billing is created as the only address, upon saving the record CAMS will automatically create the required Home, Local, and Billing addresses with “Blank Address” entered in the Address 1 field.

When using addresses in reports, CAMS filters the list to only those marked as "Active = Yes". All addresses will appear in the address list on the Student Admissions Page 1 form. In situations where the student has more than one active billing address, a report will be produced for each active address for that student.

You may add and modify addresses through the Student Admissions Information window in Admissions >Students >Add or Change Students, or, once a Student Admissions Information record is created, through Admissions >Students >Change Address.

A Copy Address function is accessible through Change Address function in Admissions, Registration, and Billing.

To add a new address:

  1. In the Student Admissions Information Window, click Student Admissions Page 1 tab.
  2. Right-click in the Student Addresses data grid. The address entry form will open.
  3. Enter appropriate data.
  4. Click Add to save entry or Cancel to exit without saving.

To maintain an existing address:

  1. Double-click the address to be updated.
  2. Make the appropriate changes in the address entry form.
  3. Click Update to save changes or Cancel to exit without saving.

Note: Billing Responsible Party can be set in the Billing Address only through Admissions >Student >Change Address or Billing >Change Address.
