GPA Grouping

GPA Grouping is a value assigned to a course allowing each to be categorized. GPA grouping can be used when printing transcripts as well as many other reports within CAMS. This grouping value can be assigned from three different locations:

  1. At the course level (Course Master or Course Offering).
  2. At the student level in the Student Status window.
  3. In the Transcript Maintenance window.

The order in which these options are listed represent the hierarchical order as well. For instance, if a student registers for a course with the GPA grouping of Undergrad, but the value in the GPA grouping within the Student Status record is Graduate, then the value of Graduate in the Student Status record will override the value in the course level. This will be true for all courses for which the student registers. Likewise, the value for GPA grouping set in the Transcript Maintenance record for a particular course will override all others.

Note: If the GPA Grouping is set on the student’s status record that setting will overwrite the setting in the offering when the student is registered.
